Model's five live edges all point over — the board says the same

Every flagged total edge on the board points over, and today's four-star reads are all in-game prices, not pregame lines.

What we found

All five of the model's top-rated plays on today's 12-game board are live, in-game prices. Not one is a pregame number. That distinction matters more than the odds themselves: a live +199 with two outs left and a pregame +199 are different bets, and the model is pricing remaining innings, not a full nine.

The strongest read is ATH @ TEX Over 7.5 at -125, taken in the bottom of the 4th with the score 0-4. The model gives that 63.8% against an implied breakeven, an EV of +14.89%, four stars. Next is MIA @ WSH Under 9.5 at +130 in the bottom of the 7th, 3-4 — 47.9% model probability, +10.06% EV. Then CWS @ HOU Over 7.5 at +106 in the top of the 4th, 1-1, 53.3% and +9.79%.

The two thinner ones are both NYM @ TB: Over 5.5 at +199 in the top of the 9th with TB leading 3-2 (36.4%, +8.70% EV, three stars), and NYM ML at +120 taken in the bottom of the 5th at 1-0 (48.9%, +7.66%, three stars). Note the engine's own bet gate declined all five — the EV is flagged, the position is not auto-taken. We publish the read and the gate separately on purpose.

The trends

The directional picture is unusually coherent today.

Totals skew over. 8 of 8 flagged total edges on the 8-game context board point over, led by BAL @ COL where the model's fair total is 11.31 against a posted 10.5 — a +0.81 run gap. That is the biggest single total edge we have, and it is the same direction as three of the five live plays.

Concentrated money is landing pregame. Tracked whale money totals $1,559,081 across 12 campaigns, and it is lopsided. The top campaign is $244,517 on 940MILCHC Under 10 at 61% one-sided. Behind it, $212,026 on 840NYMTB Over 8 at 65% one-sided, and $185,921 on TEX ML in 005ATHTEX at 100% one-sided — a campaign with no visible other side at all. The biggest single ticket on the board today is $30,453.

Lines are moving with that money, mostly. 840NYMTB-NYM has drifted 43.0c → 46.5c (+3.5) over the last 20 hours; 010CWSHOU-CWS 49.5c → 51.5c (+2.0); 940MILCHC-CHC 51.5c → 53.5c (+2.0). Moving the other way: 010CWSHOU-HOU 50.5c → 48.5c (-2.0).

The arms disagree with each other. The coldest is Robert Stock for the Mets — 7.57 ERA over his last 5, 5.9 over his last 3, against a 7.40 season mark. The recent-form trend is worse than the season line, which is why the NYM totals read leans the way it does. The hottest is Miami's Ryan Gusto at 1.92 ERA over his last 5 with 7.3 K/9 — and Miami is exactly where the model wants the under.

Our proven-signal book is holding out of sample. VELO_DROP sits at 17.1% ROI over 141 graded bets; TRAILING_LATE at 16.3% over 217 graded bets. Those are graded records, not projections. None of today's five live plays is one of those signals — different machinery, stated separately so the reader can weigh them separately.

What it means

The cleanest confluence today is over-lean on totals: model direction, the BAL @ COL 11.31-vs-10.5 gap, and the $212,026 NYM/TB over campaign all point the same way. The cleanest conflict is CWS @ HOU, where money has walked the line +2.0c toward Chicago and -2.0c off Houston while the model still wants the over at +106.

One read we are *not* leaning on: the model's top moneyline number, BOS ML +344 at 57.4% and +154.8% EV in SEA @ BOS. An EV that large on a +344 dog is more likely a stale input than a found edge, and we treat it as a flag to audit rather than a play.

What would change our mind: if the live totals lean stops clearing on settled games — if the 8-of-8 over skew grades out flat over the next few hundred bets, the input is biased, not the market. 21+ where legal.
